Hillary Rodham Clinton's Concession Speech |

It is now official. We will not have Hillary Clinton for president in 2008. The Hillary Clinton campaign is over. In her concession speech, Hillary Clinton endorsed Barack Obama and asked her supporters to use their energy, passion and strength to put him in the White House. She also pointed out that today’s generation of children will grow up taking for granted that an African American or a woman can become the president of the United States. When she said this, I think Hillary Rodham Clinton made a very valid and important point. It is high time that somebody other than a rich white male was running the show. Though Hillary Rodham Clinton may not have won the nomination, she has paved the way for other women. Similarly Barack Obama has made things ready for other African Americans, even if he is not our next president. You may or may not like Hillary Rodham Clinton. You might actually be glad that the Hillary Clinton campaign is over. Nevertheless, you have to admire her for having the strength and determination to try. As a woman, I applaud her effort.
